Between 15 - 24 October 2021, the Queensland Museum, Sunshine Coast Council and Third Nature Projects are partnering to research and celebrate invertebrate biodiversity within the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.
In collaboration with entomologists and arachnologists, artist Lesley Kendall has been engaged as a creative researcher who will apply her creative lens and practice to the invertebrate project.
Lesley proposes to make a collection of small, lifelike paper sculptures interpreting the diversity of the rainforest invertebrates found in Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.
Lesley’s visual research will be displayed at the Rainforest Discovery Centre and her resolved paper sculptures showcased in an exclusive exhibition in 2022.
The project is funded by the Sunshine Coast Council Environment Levy.
