Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve offers an Observer Aussie Bush 4x4 All Terrain Electric Wheelchair for visitors to use free of charge. To ensure availability, hire requests must be made in advance, with bookings available between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Please note that only one hire is available per day, and use is subject to weather conditions, track closures, public holidays, and general availability.
This specially designed wheelchair enables users to explore the Pademelon Circuit (1.3 km)—a gently graded trail featuring boardwalk and compacted earth surfaces. While the track includes natural features such as exposed roots and uneven ground, the 4WD wheelchair is built to handle these conditions, offering a safe and immersive way to experience the rainforest.
For bookings or further information, please contact the Environmental Visitor Centre team via email at [email protected] or by phone on 07 5494 3023.
To support your visit, the Cérge Companion website provides a visual story, guiding you through the booking process, collection, and use of the wheelchair. It also includes detailed accessibility information to help ensure a confident and inclusive experience.
