Planning scheme amendment package improves clarity and efficiency
Sunshine Coast Council will proceed with a number of site-specific and operational amendments to the Planning Scheme to improve the scheme’s clarity and efficiency and better reflect existing and preferred land uses.
Sunshine Coast Council will proceed with a number of site-specific and operational amendments to the Planning Scheme to improve the scheme’s clarity and efficiency and better reflect existing and preferred land uses.
The amendments include:
- changes to the zoning for the southern part of the Coolum Industry Park;
- zoning changes to the sites of existing caravan parks in Mapleton and Woombye;
- amendments to the zoning configuration for the Pelican Waters Golf Course;
- the proposed inclusion of rural land in the Low density residential zone at Cutters Ridge, Bli Bli;
- amendments to building height provisions in the Strategic Framework and for flood hazard allowance;
- building height changes for specific sites at Sundale, Nambour and Gannawarra Street/ Nicklin Way, Currimundi;
- advertising on bus shelters; and
- inclusion of land at Isabella Avenue, Nambour, in the sport and recreation zone.
The proposed amendments were placed on public exhibition from September 26 to 7 November 7, 2016.
Council considered the 224 submissions put forward by the public in relation to the package of amendments.
The majority of submissions related to Coolum Industry Park and Wakefield Street, Woombye.
As a result of council deliberations, a number of minor changes were considered in response to public submissions.
The Planning Minister will now determine if the amendments can be adopted and be incorporated into the planning scheme.
