Frog ID Project
The Australian Museum Frog ID Project is a great resource for learning and contributing as citizen scientists to frog research in Australia. Get involved and learn about the different species of frog you can spot in your own back yard and region. You can also record frog calls that you hear and have them identified by experts and counted in national surveys. Record frogs you hear calling in Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and help contribute to our understanding of what frogs are present and when they are active.
ClimateWatch
Help scientists understand how our local species are adapting to climate change. Download the free ClimateWatch app, look for climate watch species (this can even be in your own backyard), then upload photographs and notes on their current seasonal activities and behaviours such as flowering, nesting, feeding and breeding. The Sunshine Coast is home to a few ClimateWatch trails which are areas with specific species to observe. Search for the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary, Currimundi Lake or Kawana Forest trails.
