We respectfully acknowledge the Jinibara people as the Traditional Custodians of this land and their deep connection to this rainforest. To protect the forest and ensure an enjoyable experience for all, please:
- walk on the tracks
- keep a safe distance from plants and animals
- take any rubbish away
- keep noise to a minimum
- leave food, toys and domestic pets behind
- abide by Conditions of Participation & Entry
Bookings
To make a booking, please complete and submit the online form (6 weeks notice is required). All groups must pre-book their visit, even if self-guiding.
- Time: We recommend allowing 1.5 hours for the walk. Please allow 30 minutes following arrival for bathroom and snack breaks prior to the walk start time.
- Group numbers: To ensure a positive visitor experience, minimise impact on the reserve, and support safe group management, a maximum of 12 students per guide is required. Each group must be accompanied by a supervising adult (preferably staff) from the school. A maximum of five groups may be on the rainforest track at any one time. Larger cohorts will need to schedule multiple walk sessions or divide their visit across more than one day.
- Pricing for Guided Walks:
- Local education groups $2.50 + GST
- Non-local education groups $3.50 + GST
- Programs are priced per person with a minimum charge of $25 per visit. Prices are current for the 2026-27 financial year. Additional fees may apply for optional activities and external providers.
Curriculum links
Our programs are designed to support a range of curriculum outcomes through authentic, hands-on learning experiences in the natural environment. Students engage directly with the forest through observation, investigation, discussion, and exploration. Specific curriculum links can be tailored to your group's learning objectives. Please note our guided tours do not support the completion of worksheets. To maximise engagement with the rainforest experience, we recommend completing worksheets before or after the guided tour.
- Rainforest Discovery Centre and other activities: The centre provides a range of self-guided interactive and educational displays to suit all ages. We recommend allowing at least 15-20 minutes for students to engage with the activities in the centre. Please note a maximum of 12 students are permitted in the discovery centre at one time. Students must be fully supervised at all times.
- Viewing deck – views toward the Glasshouse Mountains.
- Mid-canopy Glider Gallery walk – short boardwalk circling from the top of the Discovery Centre to the ground.
- Butterfly walk – short walk circling behind the playground.
- General facilities: Toilets, picnic tables, BBQs and cafe.
Safety
All guides have a blue card and participate in a guide training program. Please note the reserve is a natural area and the tracks have rough and uneven surfaces. Visitors are advised to wear closed-in shoes and protective clothing.

Accessibility
Visit the Cerge Digital Concierge companion website for a virtual tour, visual story, and sensory guide. Assistance dogs are welcome. Our facilities include the Rainforest Discovery Centre, Mid-canopy Glider Gallery, and wheelchair accessible toilets. The rainforest track has a mostly flat gradient and an unsealed gravel surface with some boardwalk sections and steps. It is not a classified wheelchair track.
What to bring
The reserve is a natural rainforest environment. Please come prepared for a day in the outdoors with:
- sturdy, enclosed footwear
- a water bottle
- insect repellent
- weather-appropriate clothing
- wet-weather gear if rain is forecast
- bags, which may be stored in the outdoor classroom or on the bus.
