Seasonal bird survey

Join our seasonal bird surveys and contribute to citizen science

Come on a rainforest walk with a purpose!

Bird enthusiast Rob Kernot facilitates the early morning seasonal bird surveys.  This repeated citizen science event is an opportunity contribute to an understanding of what birds frequent the reserve at different times of the year.

2025 Dates

Winter: Friday 20 June (7.30am). Register here.

Spring: Monday 1 September (7.30am).

Summer: Monday 15 December (7am).

Registration links will be updated on this page throughout the year.  Mark your calendar and watch this space!

A Noisy pitta stands on the forest floor of dark, damp leaf litter. In its beak, it holds a large, glossy rainforest snail. The bird's head and nape are black with a chestnut crown. It has a distinctive black facial stripe over the eye. Its underpart is a dull yellow, and it has a small, blue shoulder patch. The tail is black, with a small red patch under the tail.
