Holmes Art Prize
In its sixth year, the Holmes Art Prize for Excellence in Realistic Australian Bird Art showcased Australia’s best realistic bird art. The exhibition of 35 stunning artworks was on display Friday 7 October until Sunday 30 October 2022 between 9 am and 4 pm at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.

The following awards were announced at the official opening on Saturday 8 October 2022:
Best in Show Award ($15,000)
Frances McMahon, 'Showing Off' - Sulphur-crested cockatoos
Four Awards of Excellence ($1000 each)
Nicky Shelton, 'Cherry Ripe'
Esther Horton, 'Oh... Hi There'
Brett Jarrett, 'Riverside Winter - Superb fairy-wrens'
Garry Rogers, 'Forest Diver'
On the final day of the exhibition from over 1600 votes the final award was announced:
Peoples' Choice ($1000)
William Ritchie for his work titles "Forest Watchers"..
The event is a collaboration of Friends Regional Gallery Caloundra Inc, Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and Sunshine Coast Council.
