Mangrove Magic
Celebrate the wonder of mangroves with this family-friendly, hands-on workshop at Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary. Guided by environmental scientist, science communicator and illustrator Lana Baskerville, participants will explore the wetland environment through observation, creativity and discovery.
Young nature enthusiasts will learn about different mangrove species and the vital role these unique coastal forests play in supporting wildlife and healthy wetland ecosystems. Through guided illustration activities, children will draw what they see above the waterline and imagine the hidden world of roots and creatures below the surface.
Presented as part of International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, this engaging workshop inspires curiosity, creativity and a deeper connection with the natural world. All materials are provided.
